Retiree Benefits
The University also offers an extensive benefits package for retirees. Faculty and staff can retire from the institution while maintaining ID privileges and University health insurance coverage at the retiree’s expense.
Please refer to University Policy 2-10 for a complete outline of the policy on retirement of personnel.
- The minimum age of the applicant is 60 unless the faculty/staff member has 30 years of service applied to TIAA-CREF or Utah Retirement Systems.
- The faculty/staff member must have completed five years of continuous service for the University of Utah immediately prior to retirement.
- Faculty/Staff member may maintain health coverage for their lifetime and dental coverage for 18 months at retiree rates.
- A retiree ID card will be available entitling the retired member and spouse to all applicable benefits.
